Favorite soup

Favorite soup, quick and easy soup recipes, fall soup recipes, best clam chowder recipe, healthy homemade soup

Everybody has a favorite soup from New England clam chowder (my personal favorite) to split pea and ham The Soup Spot serves them all. Each recipe made fresh daily with tender love and care by me (Chef Randy). With over 300 different soups served last year,  your favorite is sure to be found at The Soup Spot.

While searching for the all time favorite soup clam chowder is a stand out with three different varieties. Manhattan, New England, and Rhode Island all are delicious and are usually quick and easy soup recipes to make. Manhattan is traditionally a tomato based soup with potatoes vegetables and a little spice. New England is a cream based soup thick and delicious. Rhode Island (the least known of all the clam chowders) is a clear soup with a lot of flavor.

Chowders are typically hearty soups made with onions, celery, and potatoes making them great fall soup recipes but served all year round at The Soup Spot. Over the years I have been searching for the best clam chowder recipe and my favorites have always been of the New England variety.

Another favorite healthy homemade soup is chicken noodle also served at The Soup Spot. Although chicken noodle can be very simple or very elaborate. Made with homemade hand cut noodles or broth from a can each recipe is unique and delicious. Handed down from generation to generation said to be the greatest cure for the common cold chicken noodle soup has been a favorite around the world for many years.

Last but not least lobster bisque (overrated in my onion) light creamy and full of flavor. It has also stood the test of time and a remains a favorite of many. With so many different soups and soup recipes it may be hard for you to choose your personal favorite. My suggestion is to try as many soups as you can and have a couple of favorites just to be on the safe side.

Cajun Soup, best Cajun food, gator gumbo, the soup spot, best Harrisburg restaurants

Cajun Soup, best Cajun food, gator gumbo, the soup spot, best Harrisburg restaurantsWhen looking for a great Cajun soup look no further then The Soup Spot. Featuring at least one Cajun soup everyday like gator gumbo or crawfish bisque. In Harrisburg pa finding these types of  dishes is no easy task, New Orleans has the best Cajun food, but when in Harrisburg The Soup Spot is sure to please.

When making Cajun cuisine it is important to remember its not always about how spicy it is its more about the flavor. Peppers, onions, and celery are known as the holy trinity in Cajun soup, combined with Andouille or Boudin sausages, and the types of different roux make up the heart of many Cajun foods.

A customer favorite at The Soup Spot is gator gumbo (no alligator doesn’t taste like chicken). All gumbos are supposed to be thickened with a brown roux, topped with a dash of file, and served over rice. File is a Cajun seasoning and thickening agent derived from sassafras not easy to find outside of Louisiana but very important flavor in gumbo.

Another staple and favorite Cajun soup at The Soup Spot is jambalaya. A tomato based dish not thickened at all but also is served over rice. It can be made with many different ingredients such as gator or catfish are some of my personal favorites. A feature at The Soup Spot and served biweekly to satisfy your need for Cajun cuisine.

When looking for one of the best Harrisburg restaurants, The Soup Spot is a must. A place you should check out where the menu is constantly changing with over 300 different soup recipes, it is hard to find something you won’t enjoy. From jambalaya and gumbo to chicken corn soup and broccoli cheddar every item is sure to please.

Pennsylvania Dutch recipes – a staple at The Soup Spot

Pennsylvania Dutch recipes, downtown Harrisburg, kinds of soup, different kinds of soup, Pennsylvania Dutch food

Pennsylvania Dutch recipes – a staple at The Soup Spot

Pennsylvania Dutch food is a simple but delicious style of cooking. It is also a staple at The Soup Spot. Our best selling Pennsylvania Dutch soup is Chicken Corn soup. Split pea with ham and Chicken and Dumplings are also always big hits.

Even though the Pennsylvania Dutch soups are basically the same, each recipe has been handed down from generation to generation, each with it’s own variation. All the different kinds of soup are delicious no matter which recipe you use.

Most Pennsylvania Dutch recipes are meat and potato oriented and fairly cheap to make, just perfect for a slow economy. The best way to start is with homemade broth and farm fresh ingredients the way grandma would do. Making these recipes may seem to be a bit tedious but worth every second and enjoyed by all.

There are many restaurants in downtown Harrisburg but few feature the Pennsylvania Dutch food that The Soup Spot has to offer. Lebanon bologna, for our delectable sandwiches, or chicken noodle soup made with hand cut homemade noodles to name a few. Each recipe made at The Soup Spot is made with the same love and enjoyment that you would incorporate yourself.

Comfort food best describes Pennsylvania Dutch food. It brings back great childhood memories and makes you feel “warm and fuzzy inside.” Always filling and delicious, guaranteed to satisfy even the strongest hunger urges. Not much can compare to the Pennsylvania Dutch recipes that you have grown up with.

When looking for lunch places in midtown Harrisburg, The Soup Spot offers all your favorite foods. Foods that have been a staple of central PA residents throughout generations and will be continued to be enjoyed for many years to come. So whatever your favorite comfort food may be, The Soup Spot is sure to please all your tastes, even the simple ones that only grandma could satisfy.

Restaurants in harrisburg- crazy boss / employee discipline at the soup spot (parody)

Employee discipline can be a very touchy subjects at restaurants in Harrisburg or for that matter, anywhere! Chef Randy covers the crazy boss dynamic in this video showcasing how it is bad to get a smoke and not do the dishes on your shift.

No employees were harmed in the making of this video. Turn on your sense of humor or turn off this video.

After the disciplinary action you could hear jimmy crying from downtown Harrisburg. Since this measure was taken the soup spot employees have been hard at work making the soup spot one of the cleanest restaurants in Harrisburg.
